About

This fall, I’m joining Stanford Computer Science as a PhD student. I’m interested in looking at how people interact within large social information systems (like Twitter, Wikipedia, Facebook, Epinions, etc.). Currently, I’m a Research Assistant/Long-Term Intern with the Augmented Social Cognition Group at PARC, where I do projects in social computing and cognition. So far, this work has taken the form of inquiries into social search activities, enterprise collaboration tools, and language modeling, but there is so much left to learn.

For a glimpse into my real work, here’s my Curriculum Vitae and a list of publications.

My blog, Commons Sense, is a notebook for partially hashed-out ideas about social technologies and how we interact with them.  Somewhat less hashed-out ideas end up on Twitter, Friendfeed, and (very recently) on Tumblr.  For more static information about me, I recommend that you check out my Facebook or LinkedIn profiles.  In addition, I have started consolidating links across the web at my ClaimID site.
